Flannel is the nonprofit behind the BASIC, NOOMA, Ed’s Story, and True Beauty film series. We are a small, donor-supported group of people dedicated to discovering fresh ways to look at the teachings of Jesus. Our goal with every single film we make is to create something that is not only visually beautiful, but to create films that speak the way of Jesus to all people, everywhere. Flannel isn’t affiliated with any church, denomination, religious organization or religious movement. Our statement of doctrine can be found here.
We’re constantly on the lookout for new ideas, communicators, and formats to tell the way of Jesus through film. Whether that’s through the documentary-style perspective of Ed’s Story, the heartbreaking and redemptive stories of lives that have been changed by Jesus in True Beauty, or the epic journey of three fictional travelers who face trials and tests as they learn to be the church in the BASIC series, we are convinced the message of Jesus has no creative boundaries.
Currently in production at the Flannel offices are the final two films of the Ed’s Story series, and the beginning stages of pre-production for a new project called God on Campus.
Our reel below features some of our favorite moments from the 39 films (and counting!) that our donors have helped create. Take a minute to watch.
