Are you happy with your identity as ________?

June 17, 2015

Flannel Stories. Kevin

Sometimes our world seems upside down. There are no absolutes and truth can be whatever we want it to be. If we are not happy about our own identity, we can somehow virtually change our DNA and be something else. What would it look like if we understood that our DNA came from our creator?

Kevin left his abusive home at 14, became addicted to heroin and meth, was homeless and a homosexual prostitute. One day someone literally took him by the arm to a Salvation Army chapel where they showed the very first Flannel film. The Holy Spirit used that opportunity to show Kevin his true identity as God’s child.

Kevin went on to evangelize homeless people on the streets of Portland, Oregon where he spent most of his life. A few years ago he was tragically robbed and murdered while helping a homeless man. Kevin died alone with no family to bury him. But the good news is Kevin found his true identity and is now home with his Father!

Please watch Kevin’s story and if you are able, help us continue carry out our mission to tell the world the way of Jesus in new and creative ways.

His testimony really touched me. It helps me believe that there is truly hope for all. Jesus really came for the hopeless. Is in Him, and only in Him, that we find our true identity and worth. We all have great value because He shed his blood for us.
